El origen de los conflictos armados a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad fueron los temas de sus libros "La primera ola", "La segunda ola" y "La tercer ola". El primer tomo representa a la sociedad agrícola ganadera, el segundo a la sociedad de la revolución industrial y el tercero a la sociedad del conocimiento y la información. Los autores dicen: "Las olas son dinámicas. [...] El cambio económico estratégico más profundo de todos es la próxima división del mundo en tres civilizaciones distintas, diferentes y potencialmente enfrentadas". También dan a conocer que en la segunda ola, gracias a la revolución industrial, se transformó el modo de ganarse la vida de millones de personas y la destrucción masiva se convirtió en el principio nuclear de la actividad bélica de la era industrial y que recién en la tercera ola, llega el concepto de desmasificación, buscándose así una selección y precisión cada vez mayores. Cuando la realidad penetra en un nuevo siglo, donde a la sociedad se la caracteriza como impredecible y con cambios constantes, surgen una economía nueva y el esfuerzo físico; dejando en claro que a las naciones de la tercera ola les hace falta el acceso o el control de los bancos de datos y redes de telecomunicación, mercados para productos y servicios de información, servicios financieros, asesoría de gestión, programas informáticos y, sobre todo, nuevas formas de conseguir la paz.
En una de sus audiencias en Buenos Aires, habló sobre el impacto que está causando la imparable revolución tecnológica en las estructuras económicas, políticas y culturales del siglo XXI y subrayó la importancia de la educación como elemento clave para insertarse en la Nueva Economía. Para Toffler, sin ideas de largo aliento, no hay oportunidad de crecer. También dijo que esta tercera ola plantea un nuevo modo de generar la riqueza y es la etapa que implica adentrarse en el umbral del nuevo modo de vida: se trata de una nueva civilización. Poniendo freno a las visiones pesimistas que vinculan los vaivenes del mercado con el colapso de la Nueva Economía en su propio nacimiento, dijo que el desarrollo continúa y por eso, habrá altibajos, ya que el cambio es profundo y no podrá evitar turbulencias. Las conclusiones de Toffler son evidentes: a esta altura de la historia, los cambios son imparables, sin embargo, en esta era no todo es positivo: el alcance de la revolución tecnológica, nunca ha sido ni será homogéneo y equitativo, el problema es que dentro de la revolución tecnológica ya se han abierto brechas demasiado profundas, contradiciendo esta teoría, la ONU acaba de decir que Internet será un instrumento para recortar la brecha entre pobres y ricos. Tal vez no sea así, pero hay que hacer el intento.

an American known through his books “Future Shock”, “The Third Wave” and “Powershift:
Knowledge”, which, according to him, they gathered the core of his thinking.
This autor applies to war methods of analysis of the future: the way in which
humans get wealth is the same as when making war.
The origin

“The Second Wave” and “The Third Wave”. The first volume represents the
livestock agricultural society, the second, to the society and the third to the
industrial revolution and the society of knowledge and information. The autors
say "the waves are dynamic. [...] The deepest Economic change is the next
strategic division of the world into three distinct, different and potentially
conflicting civilizations. In the second wave, thanks to the industrial
revolution, it changed the way of living of millions of people and massive
destruction became the core principle of combat activity of the industrial era
and in the third wave, it comes the concept of demassification, they suggest an
increasing selection and precision. When reality enters a new century, where
society is characterized as unpredictable and constant changes, it arises new
economic and physical effort. It makes clear that the nations of the third wave
lack access or control data banks and telecommunication networks and markets
for products information services, financial services, management consultancy,
software and, above all, new ways to achieve peace.
In one of
his hearings in Buenos Aires, he talked about the impact that is causing the
unstoppable technological revolution in the economic, political and cultural
structures of the 21st century and he stressed the importance of education as
the key to be inserted in the new economy. To Toffler, without his long winded
ideas, there is no chance to grow. He also said that the third wave poses a new
way to generate wealth and it is the stage that involves entering the threshold
of the new way of life: it is a new civilization. Curbing the pessimistic
visions which link market swings with the collapse of the new economy in its
own birth, he said the development continues and therefore, there will be ups
and downs, and that the change is deep and unstoppable. However it was not all
positive: the scope of the technological revolution has already breached too
deep, contradicting this theory, the UN had just said that the Internet will be
an instrument to cut the gap between rich and poor. Maybe it won’t, but we must
try it.
